Saranjit was born in Uganda and travelled to the UK via India. She compares the freedom of her childhood to present day childhood. She talks about her schooling and her degree at university; her feelings about racism when she arrived, having to further courses below her qualification, and her difficulty in getting work. Saranjit also speaks about her wedding and her husband, her children and grandchildren, how she learned to cook and her charity work.
